It was then that my love for cats grew. Elsa was a cute cat. Everybody wanted to have her. I loved her too. I was young and didn’t know any better. All I knew was that I loved kittens, they were cute, and I wanted them. I’m not saying that I now hate cats by any means — I don’t. But as I grew older, I started to realize how much better dogs are as lifelong companions and friends.
Yes they eat more, they create bigger messes, even defecate bigger poops that I am expected to clean but hey! I just love dogs. Here are some reasons why you should consider also getting yourself a furry friend;
- Dogs live to love and please us. Dogs live to please their humans. Even if it means sitting through pain with their loved ones. I watched a dog mourn her owner’s death by just sitting next to the coffin as the burial ceremony went on. When the casket was getting lowered into the pit, she was right there. The dog sat at the tomb for the next three weeks. Isn’t that a sign of loyalty? Maybe she thought the owner could still notice the good deeds he was up to. Poor dog!
- Dogs seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to compassion and understanding. As they say, a dog is the only creature that will never judge you. When you are upset, they understand just that. They will sit next to you and curl up right there. They will wait for you to calm down and indulge you in their playful mood.
- Dogs are the best cuddlers. Period! I’d rather cuddle with my dog rather cuddle with my boyfriend. I know right? Lol! I don’t even own a boyfriend. But just to mention, dogs will jump on you and curl around you. There is no dull moment with a dog.
- Their reaction on your return home is priceless. Other than drawing happiness from my little son who jumps all over me when i return from work in the evening, the joy that comes with watching my puppies wiggling and whining their little buts on the sight of their mummy is just prices. Nothing feels good than knowing a creature loves you so much. ….Just get a dog to know how it feels having one around you.
