Yesterday, 4th October 2020, was World Animal Day and animal welfare organizations all over the globe came together to celebrate this day. The aim of this day is to raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the world.
World Animal Day also unites the animal welfare movement, mobilizing it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals.
It’s celebrated in different ways in every country, irrespective of nationality, religion, faith or political ideology.
Educating the masses on Social Media spaces
Through increased awareness and education, we can create a world where animals are always recognized as sentient beings and full regard is always paid to their welfare.
To mark this day, individuals and organizations that focus on animal welfare came together on Social media spaces like Facebook and Twitter to educate the masses on the animal welfare and how it can be safeguarded for animals to have proper well being.
Normally, this day is celebrated through events that offer education on animal welfare but due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, the celebrations were done online.
A Better Place for the Animals
As this day sought to celebrate animals, the animal welfare movement also aimed at educating the masses on the different forms of animal cruelty and how these can be stopped. Animal cruelty causes physical, mental and physiological torture to animals but when stopped, ensures that animals and their well being are protected.
Let us continue to protect our animals and their welfare!
