Whilst some people believe that zoos are a second home to wild animals, my view is that the word zoo is the sugar coated version of animal prison. Imagine if anyone put you behind bars and did not give you the freedom to do what you like, eat what you like, interact with your fellows how you like. You would surely feel bad.
Just like you have feelings, animals also do. They love to live freely and exercise their freedom, but humans tend to be the biggest hindrance to animals living better lives because we are always interfering with their freedoms, through one way or another.
One thinks they are saving an animal by confining it in zoo but this is not the case, you are actually inhibiting it from expressing its natural behavior in the wild. They can only thrive best in the wild. Most people keep animals in zoos for pleasure, money and entertainment.
Governments globally should focus on taking care of animals while in the wild and not in zoos. Wild animals do not belong to the zoos but in the wild.
