Fast food chickens are always sumptuous to feast on anytime , anywhere. You get into a fast food restaurant and make your order, sit patiently as the waiter prepares it for you. Within no time, the golden brown chicken is here on a plate and your hunger pangs will not even signal you to wash your hands. All you want is to pounce on the chicken to your satisfaction, without caring who is watching.
What most of us dont stop to care is how the chicken was slaughtered. The conditions it was slaughtered in, whether hygienic or unhygienic, humanely or inhumanely. If only you knew what goes on behind those doors written ”staff only” , you would throw up everything from 2000BC, or even worse, vomit your very own intestines.
A popular restaurant in town was caught on camera slaughtering chickens just next to a very dirty loo and this was disgusting just to say the least, very gross indeed. I am not very sure if the responsible health officials visited the place and ordered for its closure but this should have been the case. You cannot feed people with faeces and expect to thrive in business.
My perception on fast food restaurants has since changed and i am very cautious on where i consume animal products, especially the chickens, because they are the main victims of these inhumane slaughterings, use growth of hormones to fasten their growth and antibiotics. Since that picture went viral, i hope the ignorant Kenyans have changed the joints on where they source for animal products especially the chickens.
