With no law regulating the treatment of animals on factory farms, animal cruelty has become the norm. From confinement, dirty housing and overcrowded space.
Increased human population.
Due to the growing human population, the demand for meat has increased, especially for the chickens. In order to sustain the rapidly growing population, billions of chickens are raised for global consumption each year, in factory farms.
Overcrowded Sheds
They are raised in overcrowded cages, with no natural light, and are unable to exercise. They are overfed to reach the ‘maturity’ weight within 42 days, so they can bring in quick profits. As a result of the rapid weight growth, they become lame. Their limbs unable to hold the unreasonable weight become weak, making them unable to walk.
They are unable to move away from their own waste and this results to sores and burns on their skins. The red mites now see this as an opportunity to infest their bodies leading to skin infections and diseases.
Denial of their freedoms
The factory farmed chickens are usually denied various freedoms such as; Freedom to express natural behavior, freedom from pain, injury and disease, freedom from fear and stress and freedom from discomfort.
Help end this!
The factory farmed chickens suffer so we can have a sumptuous meal on our table. You can help end this kinds of animal cruelty by being a voice for the animals. Encourage farmers who practise factory farming to end it by letting chickens roam freely. Also, always be a leader by treating chicken and all animals in a humane way, and others will follow.
