When we debate animal welfare, we are equally discussing human welfare. Many people do not think that an animal’s quality of life has anything to do with human welfare. But the truth is, animal welfare affects us at a very great percentage.
Dependance on animals for livelihoods
Other than vegans, many of us humans depend greatly on meat products for nutrients such as proteins, especially when the plant feedstuffs fail to sustain the growing human population
.Meat products are known to have the highest percentage of proteins, which are very essential to our bodies. Basically, animals can live without us, but we can not live without animals.
Animal welfare versus Human Welfare
When animals are in high welfare, their productivity is not compromised, and the same is extended to human lives. Standard animal welfare yields good production results, leading to a quality meat product.
On the other hand, poor animal welfare leads to poor productivity in animals and humans. An animal living in sub standard conditions will not produce as required, thus leading to a poor quality meat product, that cannot supply the nutrients needed for human growth.
So it is always important to ensure that your animals live in good welfare, inorder to end up with a high quality product, that will also increase your productivity.
