Perhaps this is the song that is ringing in this little boy’s mind. His love and passion for his puppy is evident. After hundreds of people were evicted from the Mau forest that lies on a 922, 300 acre piece of land, several people are left suffering homelessness not knowing where to go.
It is sad to be evicted from a place you called home. It gets even sadder when you are not directed where to go. Among the people involved in the eviction of the residents are Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Forest Service and the Narok County government rangers. The residents are accused of building houses on an area meant for trees plantation.
”My house was burnt down and i have been left with nothing. I have three children but one of my child is missing because when the operations started, people started running for their safety to avoid further collisions with the police who are also involved in the evictions.” These were remarks by one of the residents.
The animals have not been an exception in these operations and my only hope is that the humans will be kind enough to tag them along and not leave them behind to die. And because these animals cannot survive without humans, lets hope that our Government will be remorseful enough to resettle the affected people.
